On Sunday 17 September, the ambassadors of the “Heart Heroes” operation flew our colours high.
In Copenhagen, where the half-marathon took place, Chloé Herbiet clocked the second-fastest Belgian time in history at 1:11:20. This makes Chloé the second fastest Belgian runner behind Marleen Renders, who clocked 1h08’56” in The Hague in the Netherlands in 2002.
In doing so, Chloé Herbiet is approaching the minimum time of 1:10:30 required for the 2024 European Championships in Rome.
With this result, the 24-year-old from Famenne took the 21st place in the race rankings.
In Nivelles, Amaury Paquet won the Nivelles half-marathon, which attracted 3,000 participants to the start line. The rider from the Pays de Herve region, who has already won the Brussels 20km three times, clocked a time of 1h06’28” ahead of Italian-Moroccan Ahmed El Mazoury.
As was the case for the last 20km of Brussels, the ‘Heart Heroes’ jersey worn by Amaury Paquet was the first to cross the finish line of one of the most important races in Wallonia.
The whole Heart Heroes team is delighted with these magnificent performances and salutes its champions!
